Chop and block

Here are a few pictures of Sammy in his karate class.
He finally got to go back after breaking his collar bone.
He really looks forward to class. Yesterday they were
learning about listening and following instructions.
Sam had a hard time with some of them and so
after class I asked him to go apologize to ma'm so he
did and she said, "what are you apologizing for you did great,
geez mom he is only three." So I guess my expectations
are a little high. I am glad he has a teacher who is so good with
kids.

Golfing

Yesterday we went to Papio Greens. It is a place where Greg
likes to go hit golf balls. The kids like going (especially when dad just takes one of them). We decided to all go and the kids had a great time. Sierra is here on the putting green and dad is here helping her with her swing.

Gabe enjoys it a lot. He gets frustrated sometimes, but he actually does pretty good. He informed Greg and I yesterday that he wanted to play professionally. When he told me I smiles and he said, "no mom, really."

Sam did really good. He kept saying, "mommy watch me, watch me." I was'nt aloud to take my eyes off of him.

First Day of School

Today August 19th is the first day of school.
We have a beautiful new school called Patriot Elementary
right down the street from us so the kids can walk to school.
Gabe is now if 4th grade and Sierra is in 1st. I am
starting to feel old now.
Gabe is a great big brother and makes sure
Sierra gets to her class. The whole time he was walking
down to the front doors he kept looking back. He has
been a little anxious about starting. He hates homework :)
Sierra, who is normally very hard to wake up in the morning
popped right out of bed ready to go. All morning she asked kept asking if it
was time to go yet.

Onward to school.

Gabe normally huffs a little at how
many pictures I take. I am very surprised he is showing
teeth in the picture.

Sierra is quite the poser for her picture.
I thought she would have chosen a Hannah
Montana or Camp Rock, but no, she wanted the
pink shiny one.

Mister Sam likes to be a part of the action.
He got a brand new Incredible Hulk lunch box that
I had to pack him a lunch in this morning. He ended up
eating it for breakfast. He felt like a big kid though. Sam
is excited also because he gets to go with me to drive
the after school karate bus.

Last Day of "Summer"

We had a fun day the last day before school started.
I took the kids over to our friend Melody's house to
swim. Sierra is getting the hang of it.

Gabe is a pro.

Sam goes back and forth from the pool to the
play set.

I told them they could choose whatever
they wanted for dinner. Of course, my kids chose
fish sticks and french fries. They love them. It is
one of Gabe's favorite meals.

They also got to choose a desert. They love making
S'mores so we sat out on the deck and enjoyed the great
weather.

Primary Activity

Our ward had a primary activity last weekend.
They played a lot in the water and had hot dogs and so forth.
The kids had a good time and here are a few pictures from it. The one
above is Sam trying a slip n slide. He kind of face planted the first time going down.

Gabe had a lot of fun on it

Sam finally did make it to the end.

Sierra played in the horse trough. From what
I understand it was very cold water.

Sam running around in the sprinkler.

Friends and Fun

Pam and I at the baseball game

Greg and some pals

Sierra hanging out

Gabe posing for another picture for mom

Sam really enjoyed his cotton candy.

Royals Baseball Game "Star Wars Night"

They got to see R2D2.

Gabe and Sierra with a Storm trooper

After Sam woke up he saw the character and
got all excited. Here he is with one of the
"Scout troopers" from the movie. Do not
mistake him for a storm trooper. I got my education
on the difference.

Sierra and Gabe eating their hot dogs. You can't
go to a game without a hot dog!

The Credit Union Greg used to work at had a
customer appreciation night. It was fun to see our friends and
hang out for the night. It was also a plus because it was
"Star Wars" night and they had a bunch of characters
from the movie there. The fireworks were done to the
Star Wars music also. Our kids were in heaven. Well Sam was
after he woke up.

Scout Camp

We had twilight camp recently for Scouts and
here is the picture of family night.
They did skits as a group.
Aunty Mame was here visiting so she was able to
go. She got a taste of the humidity while she was here.
